The dream of every aspiring creator is to make a living selling their art. We ALL dream about hitting the big time and quitting our day jobs. Unfortunately, 99.99% of us still need those day jobs. But what if there was another option? F.I.R.E., or Financial Independence Retire Early, is a movement of regular folks who are learning how to save and invest their money towards buying back their freedom. In this session, author Phillip Drayer Duncan helps our creative friends view finances a little bit differently, teaching the basics of saving and investing, and merging the idea of pursuing creative endeavors with building a financial backbone toward an early retirement. Jim Grealy: “Popular culture is the culture of a subordinate class.” Do you agree? What pop culture trends have achieved recognition by the cognoscenti (think Andy Warhol)? Is it only a matter of time before a work or artist can ascend to Art? Don't forget college classes on Trek or pulp detectives. Turns out, pop culture creation and collecting is BIG MONEY nowadays and it's still the art of the people.

Come and explore the Hubble Space Telescope, the most important tool ever invented by humans. How did its data and creation revolutionize our understanding of our solar system and the universe? Hubble is one of the Great Observatories which also included the Chandra (X-Ray) and the Spitzer (Infrared). The Kepler mission used a space telescope to search for planets around other stars in one small section of the night sky, and found thousands! Of course, we'll discuss the new James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), which may detect the first light in our infant Universe (over 13 billion years ago). Finally, the newest space telescope yet to be launched, is named for a female astronomer!
