Stephanie Hendershott is a professional cosplayer who recently relocated to Texas after living in Pennsylvania for over a decade. She has been attending cons for 10 years. She started cosplay as a full-time hobby in 2018 to improve her mental health and combat burnout from her career as a healthcare worker. She is most known for her Leia, Catwoman, and Aayla Secura cosplays.
She loves cosplaying villains. She mostly focuses on her favorite fandom, Star Wars, and re-imagines characters as Dark Sided—hence the name. When it comes to cosplay, Carrie Fisher, Steph’s personal hero, gave the best piece of advice: “What’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident. Just do it and eventually the confidence will follow.”
